Privacy Policy

The policy of Knowledge Mosaic Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is and has always been to keep the personal information and organizational affiliation of our users private.  Protecting our users' privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement will help you understand how Knowledge Mosaic Inc. collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information we collect in connection with your use of KM Services.

Please note that while KM Services contains links to web sites not owned or operated by Knowledge Mosaic Inc., we are not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of those third party web sites, and this policy does not apply to your use of those sites.

Information Collection
The use of certain parts of KM Services may require you to provide personal information, including your name, telephone number, organization, and e-mail address.  This may occur, for example, when you subscribe to one of our services, or when you log in to access KM Services.  We may use the information you provide to enable your access to our services, maintain your account, ensure proper billing, measure consumer interest in our various services, or inform you about our products and services.

Your use of any part of KM Services, whether or not you have a subscription, allows us to identify the Internet Protocol ("IP") address for your computer.  We may use this IP address information to maintain your account, investigate service problems, collect information for internal review about how our services are used, or maintain proper data security.

Like many other commercial Internet services, KM Services may also utilize a standard technology called a "cookie," which is a small text file placed on your computer when you access a part of our service or submit a request to us using a web form.  These cookies store data that can be read only by Knowledge Mosaic Inc.  They help us facilitate your use of KM Services by, for example, keeping you logged in while you navigate from one web page to another.  We also use cookies to collect information for internal use concerning how our services are used.  The cookies cannot deliver viruses to your computer.

Marketing and Information Sharing
If you provide us with your e-mail address, or have done so in the past, we may upon occasion send you e-mail messages about your account, the KM Services you use, or additional services we offer.  These e-mail messages will only come from Knowledge Mosaic Inc.

In general, we will not share the personal information or organizational affiliation of any individual user with any third party, including advertising agencies, marketing companies, or Knowledge Mosaic Inc. partners, unless we have that user's permission.  However, there may be certain circumstances when we are required to provide your personal information to third parties, such as in connection with the sale of some or all of our business or assets (which may include our customer lists and associated customer information), or if disclosure is required by law or is pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings.  In addition, User-Generated Content (as defined on our Terms of Use page) that is posted to KM Services by a particular user may contain personal information and may be displayed to others sharing that account (which may include others at the same organization if user authentication occurs via that organization's IP address).

We may identify in our marketing materials or sales efforts the names of organizations that subscribe to KM Services.

We do not sell advertising on KM Services.  We have no relationship with any advertising agency or marketing company.

No Information From Children Under Age 13
KM Services are directed to adults and college students.  If you are under age 13, please do not subscribe to KM Services or provide us with any personal information about yourself.  If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.  If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us at info@knowledgemosaic.com.
